Gone Fishin'

Well we had a few nice days here in eastern Kansas, so I decided to relearn a very useful skill. Now when I say relearn I actually mean learn because its been 25 plus years since I put a line in the water. Turns out that there is more to it than just throwing your line in, deciding whether to use live bait or a lure, what time to go during the day, how to rig your line, how deep to set your bait, how to present your bait. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. First day out I did okay, caught 8 crappie, the second day I took child number 2, He caught 3 and so did I. It made me kinda proud to see him reel in his first fish. Anyway I realize that I have a lot more to learn so I'll probably be practicing through out most of the summer. Like the saying goes "Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."---MCK

I have always loved that saying MCK...and good post! Everyone needs to be reminded that fishing is a great way to feed themselves if SHTF! Glad to hear that you are raising little fishermen!

Anon 6:49, what kind of problems are you having? Let me know and I will see what I can do. The grey background is there for two reasons, 1st its not so hard on the eyes and 2nd it reflects my mood most of the time.
